Wild Carpathia
Thank you for all comments on the pictures I uploaded. If you want to find out more about Transylvania (besides what you know from Bram Stoker's book - that it is a gloomy and dangerous place), I recommend you a Brittish documentary - "Wild Carpathia". It has three parts and I believe you can find on youtube. Few people, for instance know for example that one of Prince Charles' distant ancestors was Vlad Dracul (the Romanian King who inspired Dracula's legend). The Prince now owns several properties in Transylvanian countryside and is a supporter of the trditional way of life in this region.
Week 3
This week I've found a lot of resources for my classes, covering all kinds of activities (Listening, Speaking, etc). I believe that the most interesting activity was Project Task 2.
Nicolici Nadina Carmen's project report was very helpful, since I teach at a similar college, located about 150-200 km form hers. So, the social and cultural backgorunds (which are very important in teaching) are very similar.
The fact that she managed to work with students of different levels and to draw them was inspiring for me. As she pointed out, one of our major problems is that students don't read any more. Finding a way to encourage them to read (which leads to an enhanced vocabulary, but also to a spiritual evolution) is always a problem (at least in Romania).
The problem can be partially solved by providing them these tools (blogs, wikis), where they can express in an environment partially controlled by them. Knowing that they have some control or a real contribution to ongoing debates on various themes can encourage them to read more.
Best regards,
Anca

Week two
Hi!
I've had a constructive week. Besides celebrating Easter with family an friends, I've also done a lot of reading and found out new and interesting things, such as Noodle tools and how to work with it, useful information on how to formulate objectives (ABCD method) and I also thought abot my class and the way I could improve my teaching through multimedia technques. I'm looking forward to sharing my experience with my students next week, as we are in holiday now. I also like our instructor, Donna, because she's doing a great job with us, and she has a lot of patience.

Week 1
I am very excited about creating my first blog.
Hopefully my students will appreciate this interactive way of teaching English. Until now I thought that creating a blog was difficult and time consuming. As it seems, it is quite easy, and it gave me the idea of creating a blog where I can interact with my students. I think the bond between me and them will be strengthened.
The only thing that I am worried about is that they prefer to socialize via the Internet. But we can't fight the trend if we want to reach them. So far I have only tried to draw them by organizing different activities with them, especially on holidays, but I feel it isn't enough. Therefore, I am looking forward to sharing ideas about using technology in class.
